“I’ll start by introducing myself for those of you who don’t know me – you’re probably at the wrong wedding, but my name is Sam, and I’ve probably known Cam for about three-quarters of my life.
There are a lot of Great Men in this room today. Some of them are marketers, miners, engineers, but of all of them, I’m the best.”

“Growing up me and Cam were pretty much inseparable. The only time we didn’t spend together was probably when we were in the classroom learning, and when you spend this much time together, you sort of run out of normal things to do.”
“Around the age of 14, we got our first taste for alcohol. When the parents left the house, we used to sneak into the alcohol cupboard. We’d have a few shots, get a bit tipsy, and we dance around the house and film ourselves. It was it’s not gay, but…”
“My parents had no idea. However, Helen is a crafty lady, and she noticed that some of her bottles were evaporating slowly. So what she did was she got a permanent marker and marked the bottles with the level, and I thought we were done. I was like, we’re gonna have to do something else.”
“But no, not Cam. Cam went straight to the garage, found the turpentine and a cloth and all of a sudden those marks were movable and we were back in action. How good! To this day, I don’t think I’ve come clean, so I’m very sorry, Helen. I think I owe you a few bottles of some very expensive spirits.”
Tribute to His Best Friend
“Anyway, I guess I could probably go on all night about stories growing up, but what I wanted to say was – I’ve been able to watch you grow and mature into the man you are today. You know your life goals have changed from wanting to own a Nissan 350Z and a Nokia Razer flip phone to building a successful career, your own home, and a marriage, pretty much all in one year as well.”
“I’d like to say that I had an influence on that growth, but it was probably 99.99% Alysia.”
“I just wanted to say that I’m so proud of the man you become. I’m so proud to be able to call you my best mate and that you found such a strong and stunning motivated woman in Alysia – or wife, oh how does that sound? I’m sure we all are, and I am especially excited for you both in your future, especially for your buddy…, I mean, honeymoon.”
