Motion Art – Official Gear List

G

This all the latest gear I’m using as of January 2025.

With over 750 weddings captured on the Gold Coast and overseas I’ve carefully curated a collection of premium filmmaking gear that helps me create timeless wedding films.

Below, I’m sharing my complete equipment list in partnership with Videopro, Australia’s trusted audio-visual retailer. Each piece has been chosen based on years of real-world wedding filming experience to ensure reliability, superior image quality, and versatile performance in any wedding scenario.

I’ll be updating this list very soon.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II

These are my current flagship cameras. Handles the Gold Coast heat!

Canon RF 35mm f/1.4L Lens

My current all-purpose camera lens. The Canon RF range is incredibly sharp.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro

I’ve always used the Mavic Pro range. It’s great in windy conditions and even in low light.

Zoom F3 Field Recorder

Audio field recorder with 32-bit float technology. Used for ceremony and reception feeds.

DJI RS4 Pro Gimbal

Establishing shots / B-roll / room shots / reception dancing.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III

Two of these are in my bag and are my go-to lenses for wedding vows and speeches.

Canon R6 II

My trusty Canon EF 70-200mm IS 2.8 III lenses are total game-changers for wedding videography. It lets me capture those magical moments without getting in anyone’s way – I can hang back and film those beautiful, emotional scenes without being a distraction.

The lens is seriously impressive – super sharp images, incredible zoom, and it basically lets me be a ninja with my camera during ceremonies and speeches. Couples love that I can document their day without being right on top of them, and the footage looks absolutely stunning.

Canon now has an RF version of this lens that’s on my wish list.

Fun fact: If you’re looking for a camera that can handle the Queensland heat the Canon R6II is your best friend. This photo was taken at a wedding ceremony on the Gold Coast, on a 38 degree day in full sun and it performed beautifully.

Aputure Light Storm 60X

The best light for ceremony and reception. So easy to control with Bluetooth.

Rode Wireless GO II

Mainly used for capturing sound from celebrants and grooms.

Miller Air Carbon Fiber Tripod CAT3005

I’ve only ever used Miller tripods. Some have lasted me over a decade.
