Hi, I’m Geoff, the filmmaker behind Motion Art Wedding Films.

For nearly 20 years, I’ve been capturing weddings across the Gold Coast, throughout Australia, and around the world. In that time, I’ve filmed more than 800 weddings, from intimate hinterland elopements to multi day celebrations overseas.

What matters most to me isn’t creating something overly staged or cinematic for the sake of it. It’s capturing the real moments that already exist naturally throughout a wedding day — the nervous energy before the ceremony, the emotion in your vows, the laughter during speeches, and the small interactions that often end up meaning the most years later.

My approach is calm, unobtrusive, and story driven. I want you to feel comfortable being fully present with the people around you.

Many couples tell me afterwards that having me film their wedding day didn’t just result in a meaningful film. It helped the whole day feel more relaxed and enjoyable too, with many saying I helped take stress away and felt like part of the celebration rather than just another vendor.

From News Cameraman to Wedding Filmmaker

Before weddings, I worked as a news cameraman in New York, filming stories for networks including FOX Sports and ABC. That experience taught me how to anticipate moments as they unfold naturally, work calmly under pressure, and capture genuine emotion without interrupting it.

Over time, I realised weddings were the kind of stories I connected with most. They are real, emotional, and unpredictable to the people involved.

No scripts. No second takes. Just moments that matter.

That philosophy still shapes the way I film weddings today.

What It’s Like Having Me at Your Wedding

I know being filmed can feel a little awkward at first for a lot of couples.

The good news is, you don’t need to know how to pose or perform for the camera. Most people feel that way.

My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. Rather than constantly directing the day, I focus on capturing the real moments as they naturally happen. That’s usually when the most meaningful footage is created.

Whether your wedding is a laid back beach celebration or a big gathering with all your family and friends, my goal is always the same: to help you feel comfortable, present, and able to fully enjoy the day while I capture it all naturally.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive more than 136 five star Google reviews from couples who valued not just the films, but the experience of having me there on the day.

Why Experience Matters

No matter how much planning goes into a wedding day, there are always unexpected moments. Timelines run late, weather changes suddenly, nerves kick in, and emotional moments often happen when nobody is expecting them. Having someone calm and adaptable behind the camera makes a real difference.

Over the years, I’ve learned when to step in and help guide things, and when to quietly disappear into the background so moments can unfold naturally. The goal is never to make your wedding feel like a production. It’s to help you feel comfortable enough to fully enjoy it.

Alongside your highlight film, I also preserve the moments that matter in full. Your ceremony, vows, and speeches are delivered as complete real-time films so you can return to those words and emotions for years to come.

You can also watch some of my real wedding highlight films to get a feel for how I approach each story.

🎥 Step 4 – Wedding day

On your wedding day, I’ll quietly capture the moments as they naturally unfold while helping you feel comfortable and present throughout the experience. My approach is calm, unobtrusive, and focused on real emotion rather than awkward posing or constant direction.

▶️ Step 5 – The Final films

Shortly after the wedding, you’ll receive a sneak peek film so you can relive the excitement while everything still feels fresh. I’ll then craft the rest of your wedding films, preserving the vows, speeches, and moments that mattered most so you can revisit them for years to come.
